Fifth Annual Nebraska Star Party July 18-25, 1998 General Information
CATERED MEALS: Tuesday: Hamburgers, beans, various salads, tea - adults $8.00/Kids 10 & under
$5.00 Thursday: 10oz. steak, vegetable, rolls, various salads, tea - adults $9.00/Kids 10 & under $6.50
(6oz. steak) 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Snake Campground. These were the prices at time of publication.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Monday 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the
Observing Site canopy.
NSP BARBECUE and BEACH PARTY: There will be a “bring your own” barbecue on Wednesday
afternoon 1-6 p.m. NSP staff will cook your food on a large grill or you may bring your own. Beach
activities such as games and contests are planned to coincide with the BBQ. Held at the beach behind the
Observing Site canopy.
DOOR PRIZES: NSP has traditionally been blessed with many wonderful door prizes donated by many
generous vendors. For past NSP’ers, the rules have changed slightly this year. Here’s how it’ll work: On
your name tag will be a number. That number will be used in drawing for door prizes. Door prizes must be
claimed by the person whose name is drawn or by an immediate family member. Door prizes will be given
out at each of the catered meals, the ice cream social, during the barbecue, and after each of the programs
on Friday. Winners’ names will be posted on the bulletin boards. Winners must claim their prizes before
the final program is concluded. At that time, winners for remaining door prizes and all unclaimed door
prizes, and the grand prizes will be drawn. Once your number is drawn, it will not be placed back into the
basket until the grand prize drawing.
CANOE & TUBING TRIP: Brewers Canoes and Tubes - $15.00 per person, transportation is provided
to and from Brewers via bus. Canoes will leave Brewers at 8:30 am, tubes will leave in shifts (if needed) at
9:00, 9:30 and 10:00. Brewers will provide free cooler tubes for every five tubes rented. Children under 10
can go 2 per tube for only $7.50 each. Registration will be available at the registration tent and
payment is to be made time of registration. We will stop for lunch at Smith Falls.
NSP LIVE !!! The NSP World Wide Web Site will be updated on a daily basis. Your electronic images
and/or articles are welcome.
NSP CD-ROM: There are plans to produce an NSP CD-ROM, which will include photographs, CCD
images, and short video clips covering NSP5 with highlights of the four previous Nebraska Star Parties.
The CD-ROM will cost approximately $15, depending on projected quantities, and may be ordered at the
registration table. Delivery will be approximately December 1998.
