Fifth Annual Nebraska Star Party
July 18-25, 1998

Welcome to NSP5!

Our fifth anniversary, amazing!. I doubt five years ago when Tom Miller, Jason Stahl, John Bruce and Dave Scherping set out to find a dark observing site, that they knew their wanderings would become one of our hobby's premier family events.

NSP is a family event and Merritt is a dark site. We are proud of the experiences we have arranged for 1998. We hope that you and your family will consider this week as one of your treasured memories.

To insure that this week is memorable, we have our staff in red caps ready to help. Please ask one of us, if you have some need or or let us know of any idea on how to make NSP better.

This year we listened to you and tried to schedule more activities at the camp grounds. We also are starting a beginners field school which is open to all who would like to learn about astronomy.

Thank you for making NSP5 as success:

Dave Hamilton - coordinator
Dave Scherping - speakers and Dark Skies
Jim Rippey - activities
